There are currently 35 - 40 businesses in the immediate Grace area including a
post office, bank, and free library. Grace has several excellent auto
repair businesses and a small engine repair service. Other businesses
include a lumber yard and hardware store, a farm equipment parts outlet, a
plumbing and heating business, a dentist, a grocery store, a quik stop for gas and groceries, a drugstore, a clothing stores, a sporting goods store,
an eating establishments, a motel, etc. The primary economy for the Grace area is based on the agriculture and mining industries located in the area.
Several industries with a national distribution are finding Grace to an excellent place to locate. These include Heritage Safe Co., which manufactures and distributes gun safes. Two trout farms are located nearby. They take advantage of the natural springs in the area and have an excellent reputation for their product. They all contribute to providing a healthy, stable and non-polluting environment. There have been no notable decreases in business development over the past several years.
To encourage new business development in Grace, the City of Grace has purchased twelve acres on the west edge of the city for the establishment of an industrial park. The area is accessed by a major roadway and has access to sewer, water and electrical services. Heritage Safe Co., a company that manufactures gun safes in Grace and markets them nationally, is building a large manufacturing facility in the park during the summer and fall of 1997. They currently have 75
or more employees. Some storage units are also located in the park.
Another company, Bio-Tech Nutrients, has also built a large plant in the
industrial park. They produce a high grade fertilizer
that is shipped all over the nation.
In addition to the above, a new subdivision, Burton Canyon Estates, has been constructed on the east edge of the City, providing 22 new residential building lots with room for additional expansion. These lots have the city sewer and water (residential hookup charge is $1000.00). They also have curb and gutter, underground utilities including electricity, natural gas, and telephone, and paved streets.
The City of Grace welcomes new light industries, new businesses and residential citizens to the area. With the extra unused capacity of both the city sewer and water systems, the small business industrial park and Burton Canyon Estates, the City of Grace is well prepared for future growth.
